
Deepinder Goyal is Founder of Temple Private Limited, a wearable technology startup building advanced cerebral blood flow monitoring devices for elite performance athletes. He is also Co-Founder and former CEO of Zomato, India's leading food delivery platform that went public in 2021 at a $12 billion valuation.
Deepinder graduated from IIT Delhi in 2005 with an M.Tech in Mathematics and Computing and worked as a Senior Associate Consultant at Bain & Company. He founded Zomato (initially Foodiebay) in 2008 while at Bain after noticing colleagues queuing for food menus.
Deepinder led Zomato from a restaurant discovery platform to a publicly traded unicorn serving 800+ Indian cities and achieved billionaire status in 2024. He is also a Shark on Shark Tank India Season 3 and has invested in multiple startups including Bira 91, Unacademy, and ChefKart.
Temple raised $54 million in seed funding at a $190 million valuation in February 2026 from investors including Steadview Capital, Peak XV Partners, and InfoEdge Ventures. Deepinder personally invested over $100 million in the round and owns a 29% stake.
Under his leadership, Zomato expanded to 23 countries and revolutionized India's food delivery industry with over 10 million monthly orders. Temple is developing precision wearable technology that measures cerebral blood flow with unprecedented accuracy for performance optimization.
