
Abe Sutton is Co-Founder of Honest Health, a physician-led value-based care enablement organization that partners with health systems and primary care physicians to improve patient outcomes for Medicare patients. He currently serves as Director of the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Innovation and Deputy Administrator at CMS, a role he assumed in January 2025.
Sutton started his career as a consultant with McKinsey & Company in the health sector and holds a law degree from Harvard Law School and undergraduate degrees from the Wharton School and University of Pennsylvania. From 2017 to 2019, he served at the National Economic Council, Domestic Policy Council and Department of Health and Human Services, coordinating health policy across the federal government with a focus on value-based Medicare reform.
Sutton was named to Forbes 30 Under 30 for Law and Policy in 2018. As a Principal at Rubicon Founders, he co-founded two health service companies: Honest Health and Evergreen Nephrology, which focuses on enabling nephrologists.
Honest Health was founded in 2021 by Adam Boehler, Abe Sutton, and Matt Kim of Rubicon Founders, a healthcare investment firm. The company recently raised $140 million led by NewSpring Healthcare.
Honest Health partners with health systems and providers to succeed in value-based risk models through technology-enabled care coordination, quality improvement, and actionable insights. The Nashville-based company partners with physicians to improve care experience and reduce costs for people with Medicare.
