Akshay Trikha is Co-Founder of Madrone, a venture at the intersection of machine learning and energy technology, drawing on his deep expertise in AI-driven materials research and sustainable innovation.
Akshay studied at Harvey Mudd College, where he published peer-reviewed ML research, and later pursued graduate studies at UC Berkeley focusing on scaling laws for machine learning interatomic potential models.
Akshay has published academic work on machine learning theory, including research on bias-expressivity tradeoffs presented at ICAART 2020, reflecting a rigorous scientific foundation.
Prior to founding Madrone, Akshay served as a Machine Learning Engineer at QuantumScape, where he built and deployed nine computer vision models running 30,000 inferences daily to accelerate solid-state battery manufacturing.
His production ML pipelines at QuantumScape directly supported next-generation energy storage development, and his passion for renewable energy and scientific computing now drives the mission at Madrone.
