
Alexis Ohanian is Co-Founder and General Partner at Seven Seven Six (776), an early stage venture capital firm with nearly $1 billion under management that he describes as a technology company that deploys venture capital.
Ohanian graduated from the University of Virginia in 2005 with a degree in history and commerce, then co-founded Reddit with Steve Huffman as part of Y Combinator's first batch. He later co-founded Initialized Capital before launching 776 in 2020.
Ohanian was named to Forbes 30 Under 30 twice and is married to tennis champion Serena Williams. He launched Athlos, a women's only track and field event, and purchased a 10% stake in Chelsea Women FC.
776 has raised over $750 million across multiple funds and invested in 10 unicorns and 25 decacorns including Coinbase, Gusto, and Patreon. The firm built Cerebro, a proprietary operating system with 44,000 contacts for portfolio support.
776's investor base is 51% female and 13% Black or Indigenous, deliberately reflecting societal diversity. The firm has invested in over 90 companies that have raised more than $800 million in follow-on capital.
