Alex earned a PhD in Artificial Intelligence and a MEng in Computer Science from the University of York, before building deep expertise as a Research Scientist at ByteDance and TikTok, where he worked on multimodal AI technology alongside Sonilo's CEO.

Prior to Sonilo, Alex held Research Scientist and Technical Lead roles at ByteDance, TikTok, and Mureka, accumulating years of hands-on work in music AI and deep learning research with published academic contributions.
Sonilo has raised $11 million in a seed round led by B Capital with Redpoint participating, secured a landmark licensing partnership with Shutterstock, and showcased its Sound World Model at the 2026 Venice International Film Festival.
