Alexandre Prot is Co-Founder and CEO at Qonto, Europe's leading business finance solution serving over 600,000 SMEs and freelancers across France, Germany, Italy, and Spain. He holds an MSc in Finance from HEC Paris and an MBA from INSEAD.

Alexandre started his career at Goldman Sachs and McKinsey & Company before co-founding Smokio in 2013, a connected e-cigarette company that was acquired by a Fortune 500 company in 2015. He also managed Wimdu France for Rocket Internet.

The frustrations Alexandre experienced with business banking at Smokio led him to co-found Qonto in 2016 with Steve Anavi to reinvent business banking for modern entrepreneurs. He has made 11 personal investments and co-authored a book on scaling startups.

Under Alexandre's leadership, Qonto raised 486 million euros in Series D funding in January 2022, achieving unicorn status with a 4.4 billion euro valuation. The company has raised over 717 million dollars total from investors including Tiger Global, TCV, DST Global, and Tencent.

Qonto has grown from 60 employees in 2018 to over 1,000 employees by 2024, expanding across four European markets. The platform processes everyday banking, bookkeeping, and spend management for businesses, with revenue growing 30% in 2024 and the company approaching profitability.
