
Alexis Borisy is a Partner at Third Rock Ventures and Board Chair of Relay Therapeutics, a leading biotechnology entrepreneur and investor with over 30 years of experience building innovative science-based companies. He is also Co-Founder and Operating Chairman of Curie.Bio, a new founder-focused venture model in biotech.
Alexis trained in chemistry and chemical biology at Harvard University as a Howard Hughes Predoctoral Fellow and holds a B.S. in chemistry from the University of Chicago. He founded his first company, CombinatoRx, in his 20s and brought it public on NASDAQ.
Alexis has founded or served as CEO or Chairman of over 15 biotechs, including 10 that have gone public on NASDAQ. He was honored as MIT's Technology Review Innovator of the Year and named New England Entrepreneur of the Year in Life Sciences.
As a Third Rock Ventures partner for a decade (2009-2019), Alexis co-founded Foundation Medicine (acquired by Roche for $5B), Blueprint Medicines, Relay Therapeutics, Tango Therapeutics, and was a founding investor in Editas Medicine, Revolution Medicines, and Magenta Therapeutics. He has been personally involved in tens of billions of dollars in financing and business development deals.
Alexis has led multiple companies from formation to public markets with significant patient impact. He serves as Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Boston Museum of Science and past Chairman of the National Venture Capital Association, demonstrating his leadership across the biotechnology ecosystem.
