
Amiram Shachar is Co-Founder and CEO at Upwind Security, a runtime-first cloud security platform protecting modern cloud and AI infrastructure.
Shachar served six years as an officer in the IDF's Mamram unit and studied computer science at the College of Management Academic Studies in Israel.
Previously founded Spot.io, which was acquired by NetApp for $450 million in 2020. Upwind is named after his passion for wing foiling, a water sport combining windsurfing and kitesurfing.
Upwind raised $430 million total funding, including a $250 million Series B at $1.5 billion valuation in January 2026. The company achieved 900% revenue growth year-over-year and counts Siemens, Peloton, Roku, and NuBank as customers.
Since the Series A round, Upwind doubled its workforce, expanded to six countries, and grew its customer base by 200%. The company is backed by Bessemer Venture Partners, Greylock, Craft Ventures, and other leading investors.
