Dr. Anas Basalamah is Co-Founder of Hazen.ai, a Saudi AI startup pioneering computer vision and deep learning solutions to improve road safety and traffic management globally.

Anas holds a PhD in Computer Systems and Network Engineering from Waseda University and served as a Post-Doctoral Researcher at the University of Tokyo and the University of Minnesota, before becoming an Associate Professor at Umm Al-Qura University.

A recipient of the prestigious Okaz Innovator Prize in 2016, Anas focuses on Embedded Networked Sensing, Smart Cities, and Participatory Sensing, with over 1,900 academic citations to his name.

Prior to Hazen.ai, Anas served as CTO at NaviBees and Tawseel, and co-founded the Wadi Makkah Technology Innovation Center at Umm Al-Qura University, building a strong foundation across academia and deep tech entrepreneurship.

Hazen.ai has won the 2020 IRF Global Road Achievement Award for Intelligent Traffic Systems and the Product Innovation Award at Gulf Traffic 2018, with its AI-powered platform deployed across the UK, US, Spain, Peru, Oman, and Egypt.
