Andrew Li is Co-Founder and Chief Scientist at Judgment Labs, an AI infrastructure company building the continuous improvement layer for production AI agents, backed by Lightspeed Venture Partners.
Andrew studied at the University of California, Berkeley, and went on to become an early research hire at TogetherAI, one of the fastest-growing AI training and inference startups in the industry. He also conducted research at Berkeley Artificial Intelligence Research (BAIR) and NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory.
Andrew first taught his co-founder Alex Shan natural language processing when they were children, reflecting a lifelong passion for AI research that now drives Judgment Labs' technical vision. His deep expertise in NLP and agentic evaluation uniquely positions him to lead the science behind agent behavior monitoring.
At Judgment Labs, Andrew leads research into how AI agents reason, plan, and fail in production, pioneering Agent Behavior Monitoring (ABM) tooling that helps teams evaluate long reasoning traces, tool use, and memory. The company was co-founded in 2025 alongside CEO Alex Shan and CTO Joseph Camyre.
Judgment Labs has raised $32 million in combined Seed and Series A funding led by Lightspeed Venture Partners, with participation from Nova Global, SV Angel, Valor Equity Partners, and Dynamic. The platform is already live in production at a growing roster of agent-native companies, powering daily monitoring and improvement cycles.
