Avi Gotskind is Co-Founder and Chief Growth Officer (CGO) at Voltair, a Y Combinator-backed company building self-charging autonomous drones that revolutionize power grid inspection by perching on transmission lines. Voltair is pioneering unlimited-range drone technology to prevent wildfires and transform infrastructure monitoring.
Avi worked as a consultant on go-to-market and government affairs strategy for leading aerospace and space companies including ExoAnalytic Solutions, Virgin Galactic, and Amazon Kuiper. He studied International Affairs with a concentration in the Middle East and Security Policy at George Washington University's Elliott School and completed an Independent Study Year at Reichman University in Israel.
Avi brings deep expertise in government relations, defense sector strategy, and aerospace GTM to Voltair's mission-critical infrastructure work. He was formerly a member of the National Youth Orchestra and has held positions at multiple organizations spanning defense policy, international affairs, and venture capital.
Voltair joined Y Combinator's Winter 2026 cohort and has already validated its core charging technology on power lines, built 5 flying prototypes, and inspected approximately 2,000 poles since June 2025. The company's drones deliver over 20x the inspection coverage for the same cost as traditional methods, with 50 miles of range covering 90% of U.S. land area.
Voltair's autonomous drones identify critical maintenance concerns before they spark catastrophic wildfires, addressing extreme weather liability that bankrupts utilities and makes them uninsurable. The company plans to expand beyond power utilities into rail, road, telecom, and real estate inspection markets, positioning itself as a new infrastructure layer for data on the physical world.
