Bastian Maiworm is Co-Founder and Chief Revenue Officer at amber (formerly amberSearch), an Aachen-based AI platform that helps small and medium-sized enterprises unlock, access, and act on their internal organizational knowledge through autonomous AI.

Bastian earned both his Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in Industrial Engineering and Civil Engineering from RWTH Aachen University, and brought hands-on operational perspective from a family business background, recognizing firsthand how critical company knowledge is lost as experienced employees leave.

Bastian is a vocal advocate for European AI sovereignty, championing GDPR-compliant, data-quality-first AI architecture for the Mittelstand, and regularly writes and speaks on enterprise AI adoption and digital transformation at MoreThanDigital.info.

Under Bastian's revenue leadership, amber progressed from a pre-seed round in 2021 through a 2.1 million euro seed round led by Ventech in March 2025, to a 7 million euro Series A co-led by Ventech and NRW.Venture in August 2026, serving over 200 mid-sized customers across Germany, Austria, and Switzerland.

amber's platform now connects to over 120 enterprise data sources, supports customers including Ritter Sport, Zentis, and Hailo across manufacturing, engineering, IT consulting, and consumer goods, and has grown to a team of more than 50 people across Aachen, Cologne, and Tirana.
