Batuhan Yumurtaci is Co-Founder and CTO at TYTAN Technologies, a Munich-based defense technology company developing AI-powered autonomous interceptor drones to counter unmanned aerial threats. TYTAN partners with industry leaders like HENSOLDT and Dedrone by Axon to deliver full-spectrum counter-drone defense for NATO airspace.
Batuhan earned a Master of Science in Robotics, Cognition, Intelligence from Technical University of Munich and completed his master's thesis at Imperial College London on autonomous drones and computer vision. He co-founded the HORYZN student initiative at TUM, building vertical take-off and landing UAVs and leading flight testing operations for competition teams.
Batuhan graduated from Istanbul Erkek Lisesi and completed his undergraduate degree in mechanical engineering at Technical University of Munich before specializing in robotics and AI. He brings expertise in autonomous vehicles, UAV systems, flight simulation, and computer vision from his academic research and HORYZN leadership.
TYTAN has secured venture capital funding from investors including Lakestar, Magnetic Capital, OTB Ventures, 10X Capital, and Define Accelerator. The company opened a new Bavaria facility in 2026 targeting production of 3,000 Group 3 interceptor drones monthly and conducts testing in Ukraine through BRAVE1 partnership.
TYTAN's autonomous interceptors use AI and kinetic impact to neutralize hostile drones, protecting critical infrastructure across NATO. The company originated as a student project at TUM in 2023 and rapidly scaled to 27 employees, establishing strategic partnerships with major defense contractors to industrialize European counter-UAS capabilities.
