Christophe Deboffe is Co-Founder of NeoCem, a pioneering French industrial startup producing low-carbon cement binders from flash-calcined recycled clay, with a global-first solution capable of reducing CO2 emissions by up to 90% versus traditional clinker.
A graduate engineer from the Ecole des Mines de Douai, Christophe began his career at automotive supplier Valeo before pivoting to circular economy entrepreneurship, founding Neo-Eco in 2006 near Lille to transform waste materials into valuable resources.
With over 25 years of experience in circular economy engineering and R&D, Christophe co-developed a patented flash-calcination process after 4 years of intensive R&D, positioning NeoCem as a world-first carbon contribution solution for the construction sector.
Christophe co-founded NeoCem in 2021 alongside Benjamin Constant, building on Neo-Eco's circular economy expertise, and secured backing from Bpifrance, La Banque Postale, and Crédit Mutuel, raising EUR 17 million in a recent funding round.
NeoCem inaugurated its first production unit in Saint-Maximin near Paris in November 2025, targeting 200,000 tonnes of calcined clay per year, and has partnered with major contractors including Eiffage, Bouygues, and Vinci on the Grand Paris Express project.
