
Clark E. Tedford, Ph.D., is Co-Founder and President and CEO of OpZira, Inc., a forward-thinking ophthalmic medical device company dedicated to advancing early detection and monitoring of ocular disease.
Dr. Tedford earned his Ph.D. in pharmacology from the University of Iowa and completed post-doctoral work at Loyola University Medical School, building over 30 years of expertise across pharmaceutical and medical device sectors.
Dr. Tedford previously co-founded LumiThera in 2013 and led it to a successful acquisition by global eye care giant Alcon, validating the company's photobiomodulation technology as the first and only FDA-authorized treatment for dry AMD.
Prior to LumiThera, Dr. Tedford served as VP and Chief Science Officer at PhotoThera, VP of Pharmaceutical Research at Omeros, EVP of R&D at Gliatech, and as a Principal Scientist at Schering-Plough Research Institute.
OpZira was born from the Alcon-LumiThera transaction as a spin-off carrying LumiThera's diagnostic product lines, including the AI-powered AdaptDx Pro wearable dark adaptometer and the NOVA Vision Testing System, empowering clinicians with cutting-edge tools to combat retinal disease.
