Cliff Crosland is Co-Founder and CEO of Scanner (Scanner.dev), a next-generation cybersecurity platform delivering the world's fastest full-text search and threat detection for security data lakes built on S3.

Cliff holds a BS in Computer Science from Stanford University, where he also served as a CS Section Leader, and launched his career as a Software Developer Intern at Amazon.

Cliff built his expertise at the intersection of large-scale data engineering and security, developing a deep conviction that traditional SIEM architectures are fundamentally broken for modern log volumes.

Prior to Scanner, Cliff was a Principal Engineer at Cisco leading the Webex People Graph infrastructure, and before that was engineering lead at Accompany, which was acquired by Cisco. He also co-founded Seed Equity Ventures as CTO, a registered SEC Broker Dealer, and co-founded RedeemPlus.

Scanner raised a $22M Series A led by Sequoia Capital with participation from CRV and Mantis VC, and its platform enables security teams to search petabytes of logs in seconds at 70-80% lower cost than legacy SIEMs.
