
David Dorman is a Founding Partner at Centerview Capital Technology Partners, a private investment firm focused on late-stage technology investments, and serves as Non-Executive Chairman of CVS Health Corporation. He also serves on the boards of Dell Technologies, PayPal Holdings, and Yum! Brands.
Dorman earned a bachelor's degree in industrial management from Georgia Institute of Technology in 1975 and served as Chairman and CEO of AT&T Corporation from 2002 to 2005, where he led the company's modernization and sale to SBC for $16 billion. He previously served as Chairman and CEO of Pacific Bell, becoming the youngest CEO of a Baby Bell company at age 39, and held leadership roles at Sprint, PointCast, and Concert Communications.
Dorman has over 38 years of senior executive, operational, board and investment experience in telecommunications and technology sectors. He previously served as Chairman of the Board of Motorola and as a senior advisor and managing director at Warburg Pincus, a global private equity firm.
Centerview Capital Technology partners with management teams to accelerate growth through operational transformation, focusing on enterprise software, networking, and data management sectors. The firm has made investments in companies including SecureWorks, Affirmed Networks, Infoworks, Acquia, and Pando, with portfolio exits including an IPO and multiple acquisitions.
During his tenure at AT&T, Dorman grew the company's local-service customers to 28 million by 2003 and invested $200 million in customer services. He led the firm through industry disruption, modernizing infrastructure with Internet protocol systems and positioning AT&T as an enterprise services leader.
