David King is Co-Founder and Co-CEO at Artificial Labs, a leading algorithmic underwriting and digital broking platform for the commercial and specialty insurance markets.

David served in the Royal Signals army regiment and worked in digital media before starting his own software development business. He co-founded Artificial Labs in 2013 with Johnny Bridges after recognizing opportunities in insurtech.

David has been focused on insurtech since 2016 and partnered with Damian Arnold, former COO of Direct Line, to scale the business. He completed the Lakeland 50 ultra-marathon and is passionate about using technology and data at scale.

Artificial Labs raised $45M Series B in 2026 led by CommerzVentures and serves major clients including Apollo, PPL, Lockton, Convex, and Chaucer. The company previously raised $27.1M across earlier rounds and is expanding to the US market.

Artificial Labs was named to the InsurTech100 in 2025 and won silver at the Insurance Times Awards for AI excellence. The platform enables insurers to digitally quote, bind, and issue policies while processing data from hundreds of thousands of users.
