Adam Bily is Co-Founder and CTO at Kapta Space, a Seattle-based deep tech startup pioneering advanced spaceborne radar systems using proprietary metamaterial electronically scanned array (MESA) technology for defense and commercial Earth observation missions.
Adam holds both a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Washington, and spent over 15 years leading antenna system development across radar and communications, including pioneering work in metamaterial antennas.
Adam has registered patents including innovations in dynamic polarization and coupling control for steerable holographic antennas, and is recognized as an early pioneer in metamaterials-based systems.
Prior to co-founding Kapta Space, Adam served as Antenna Team Lead at Astranis Space Technologies, where he led development of deployable reflector systems for geosynchronous communication satellites, and previously held senior antenna engineering roles at Apple and Echodyne.
Kapta Space has raised $30M in total funding, including a $5M seed round and a $24M Series A, and secured a $1.8M DoD SBIR grant, positioning the company to deliver persistent geospatial intelligence and ground target tracking from LEO satellites.
