
Akshay is Co-Founder and COO at Notion, a productivity platform valued at over $10 billion with 100 million users worldwide. He oversees critical functions including support, sales, marketing, customer success, finance, and operations.
Akshay earned a BS in Electrical Engineering from Purdue University and an MS from Stanford University. He co-founded Pulse, a news aggregation app that grew to 30 million users and was acquired by LinkedIn for $90 million in 2013.
Steve Jobs featured Pulse in his 2010 keynote, and the app won the Apple Design Award in 2011. After the acquisition, Akshay served as LinkedIn's Country Manager for India and led major content initiatives.
Akshay angel invested in Notion in 2013 and joined as the 8th employee and co-founder in 2018 when the company found product-market fit. He has built multiple functions from the ground up, spending his first six months answering support tickets to build product intuition.
Under his operational leadership, Notion grew from fewer than 10 employees to over 100 million users across 80+ countries. The company raised $343 million in funding and achieved profitability while maintaining strong founder ownership and no VCs on the board.
