Amit Tandon is Founder and CEO of PolyCycl, an India-based deep-tech company pioneering chemical recycling technology to enable a plastic-to-plastic circular economy for hard-to-recycle waste plastics.
With a background in mechanical engineering, Amit previously worked with semiconductor startups and Fortune 500 companies in Silicon Valley, including Sun Microsystems where he was part of the methodology team on the Niagara super-processor chip.
Amit holds multiple international patents related to chemical recycling and is a vocal industry evangelist who has presented at sustainability conferences across the USA, Europe, India, and Southeast Asia, including as a distinguished patent holder at India's Republic Day celebrations.
Under Amit's leadership, PolyCycl developed six generations of its ContiFlow Cracker technology over more than a decade of R&D, securing a Series A investment from Rainmatter (Zerodha) in January 2026 and raising a total of $3.94M across four funding rounds.
PolyCycl's patented technology delivers conversion yields of 65-75%, validated by global petrochemical companies, and is projected to remove 1.6 million tonnes of plastic waste per annum from landfills at commercial scale.
