André Eriksson is Co-Founder of Encore, a backend development platform that automates infrastructure provisioning and DevOps for distributed systems. He is also founder of Leap.new, an AI developer agent that builds and deploys full-stack applications to AWS and Google Cloud.
André was a Staff Engineer at Spotify where he spent years building and scaling distributed backend systems for millions of users. He studied at KTH Royal Institute of Technology and taught himself to code as a young boy, building World of Warcraft modifications used by millions of players by age 13.
André spent over 2.5 years building Encore on the side while working full-time at Spotify before launching in 2020. His frustrations with cloud complexity and DevOps overhead at Spotify led him to reimagine how developers build backend applications.
Encore raised $3 million in seed funding led by Crane Venture Partners in 2022, with backing from investors including Scott Belsky (Behance), David Cramer (Sentry), and Nicolas Dessaigne (Algolia). The company has grown to over 10,000 GitHub stars and serves customers who have collectively raised over $570 million.
Encore customers report 2-3x faster development speed, 90% shorter project lead times, and 95% reduction in DevOps workload. The platform enables developers to build and deploy cloud backends in minutes instead of weeks, with automatic infrastructure provisioning across AWS, GCP, and Azure.
