Andre Braga is Co-Founder and Head of AI at Shofo (YC W26), building the Common Crawl for videos to provide custom datasets for AI labs. He is a statistics and data science student at UC Santa Barbara and researcher in the UCSB NLP group under Professor Xifeng Yan.
Andre previously conducted research at MIT and worked on natural language processing, neural network architectures, and interdisciplinary AI applications. Before Shofo, he co-founded Correkt, an AI search engine focused on multimodal content that reached over 40,000 users.
Andre is passionate about advancing machine learning and artificial intelligence to enable more dynamic and adaptable AI systems. He made the bold decision to pivot from Correkt with 40k users to focus entirely on social media video datasets.
Shofo was founded in 2025 and is part of Y Combinator's Winter 2026 batch, based in San Francisco. The company builds complete pipelines that collect, segment, sanitize, and label videos from across social media to curate custom datasets for AI labs.
Shofo has built the largest index of short-form videos and runs end-to-end pipelines with object and activity detection, reasoning, and segmentation. The platform processes millions of hours of video data to deliver clean, annotated datasets for AI training and computer vision applications.
