Christine Wang is Co-Founder and CTO of Diffraqtion, a deeptech MIT and University of Maryland spinout developing next-generation quantum cameras that deliver ultra-sharp imaging 20x further and 1,000x faster than conventional systems.
Christine earned her Ph.D. in Physics from Harvard University and completed Post-Doctoral research at EPFL and the Max Planck Institute, building a world-class foundation in optics and photonics.
She brings over 20 years of R&D experience in quantum sensors, imaging systems, and photonic integrated circuits, and was honored with the 2025 Kevin P. Thompson Optical Design Innovator Award.
Prior to co-founding Diffraqtion, Christine served as Director of Optics and Photonics at Riverside Research and as Principal Scientist at The Charles Stark Draper Laboratory, leading defense and commercial photonics programs.
Diffraqtion has raised over $10M in pre-seed funding backed by Lockheed Martin Ventures and Presidio Ventures, secured a DARPA SBIR Direct-to-Phase 2 contract, won NASA's $100,000 Space to Soil Challenge, and took home the $1M first-place prize at the Slush 100 pitch competition.
