
Daphne Koller is Founder and CEO at Insitro, a machine learning-driven drug discovery company transforming how medicines are discovered and delivered to patients. She is a MacArthur Fellow, member of the National Academy of Sciences and National Academy of Engineering, and recognized as one of TIME Magazine's 100 Most Influential People.
Daphne was the Rajeev Motwani Professor of Computer Science at Stanford University for 18 years, where she authored over 300 publications. She co-founded Coursera in 2012, which has reached over 100 million learners worldwide, and served as Chief Computing Officer at Calico, an Alphabet company.
Daphne holds multiple prestigious awards including the ACM Prize in Computing (2008), the MacArthur Fellowship (2004), and the ACM AAAI Allen Newell Award (2019). She is also co-founder of Engageli, an interactive digital learning platform.
Insitro has raised $643 million across three funding rounds from top investors including Andreessen Horowitz, Google Ventures, CPP Investments, and BlackRock. The company has strategic partnerships with Gilead, Bristol Myers Squibb, and Eli Lilly for drug discovery in metabolism, oncology, and neuroscience.
Insitro operates over 107,000 square feet of lab and office space with more than 260 employees, advancing therapeutic programs in ALS, liver disease, and cancer. The company is pioneering AI-driven biology with plans to advance its first human clinical trial in the coming months.
