
Dara Khosrowshahi is CEO of Uber, managing operations in over 70 countries since 2017, transforming the company's culture and leading it to its first annual operating profit in 2023.
Dara earned a BS in Electrical Engineering from Brown University in 1991 and worked as an analyst at Allen & Company before joining Barry Diller at IAC in 1998, where he became CFO.
He served as CEO of Expedia from 2005 to 2017, growing gross bookings from $15 billion to $72 billion and expanding to over 60 countries through major acquisitions including Orbitz, Travelocity, and HomeAway.
As an Iranian immigrant who fled during the 1979 revolution at age 9, Dara sits on multiple boards including BET.com, Hotels.com, and Expedia, and is a passionate advocate for refugee rights.
Under his leadership, Uber went public in May 2019 raising $8.1 billion, achieved profitability in 2023 with $1.1 billion operating profit, and now provides work for over 7 million drivers globally while delivering 26 million trips daily.
