Dasmer Singh is the Founder and CEO of Allowance, a YC-backed AI payments company building programmable, scoped payment credentials that let AI agents safely make purchases on behalf of users.
Dasmer studied Financial Engineering at Columbia University and went on to earn an MBA from Stanford Graduate School of Business, building a strong foundation at the intersection of finance and technology.
Dasmer identified a critical gap in agentic commerce firsthand: while testing an AI agent to book a reservation, he realized there was no safe way for agents to transact without exposing real payment credentials, which became the founding insight for Allowance.
Prior to Allowance, Dasmer served as Head of Product for Cash App Families at Block, where he helped grow Cash App into the most popular debit card for teens in the US, and previously held product roles at Uber, Petal, and Venmo.
Allowance, backed by Y Combinator, addresses a foundational layer of the agentic web by enabling AI agents to shop, order food, book reservations, and purchase tickets while keeping humans in control of every payment through customizable spending limits and one-time virtual cards.
