David Shijoon Bae is Co-Founder at FlowManual (YC S26), an AI platform automating the back office for construction contractors across bid, buyout, and contract review.

David grew up in Irvine, California, was recognized as one of 315 students nationwide in the Bank of America Student Leaders program, and attended Harvard University before dropping out to build FlowManual.

David previously co-founded a nonprofit organization devoted to teaching Film, Television, and Creative Writing to underserved communities with limited arts education access.

FlowManual was accepted into Y Combinator's Summer 2026 batch and received $500,000 in seed funding, with David serving as a key contact for construction industry partnerships.

FlowManual serves general and MEP specialty contractors, reading contract, specification, bid, and invoice documents to flag scope items and cut hundreds of hours of manual work monthly.
