
Dr. Damian Crowther is Co-Founder and Head of Research at TRIMTECH Therapeutics, a Cambridge-based biotech pioneering small molecule targeted protein degraders to treat neurodegenerative and inflammatory diseases such as Alzheimer's and Huntington's.
A clinician-scientist (PhD, FRCP) trained at Cambridge and Oxford, Damian practiced clinical neurology before leading a basic neuroscience research group at the University of Cambridge for 10 years, accumulating deep expertise in protein aggregation.
Damian was elected Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians in 2020 and has over 139 scientific publications with more than 5,300 citations, reflecting his standing as a leading voice in neurodegeneration research.
After six years at AstraZeneca rising to Head of Drug Discovery in Neuroscience, Damian served as Entrepreneur in Residence at Oxford Science Enterprises and Cambridge Innovation Capital, co-founding TRIMTECH in 2023 alongside academic pioneers Leo James and Will McEwan.
TRIMTECH has raised a total of $47M in seed funding from a world-class syndicate including Pfizer Ventures, Eli Lilly, M Ventures, Johnson and Johnson Innovation (JJDC), and Cambridge Innovation Capital, and was named one of Fierce Biotech's Fierce 15 for 2025.
