Dr. Galip Gürel is Co-Founder and Chief Medical Officer at Lupin Dental, a pioneering dental robotics company revolutionizing minimally invasive aesthetic veneer preparation through supervised automation.

Dr. Gürel graduated from the University of Istanbul Dental School in 1981, pursued advanced prosthodontics training at the University of Kentucky, and earned his MSc from Yeditepe University in Istanbul, before building a globally renowned private aesthetic dentistry practice since 1984.

Dr. Gürel authored the landmark book The Science and Art of Porcelain Laminate Veneers (Quintessence, 2003), translated into over 12 languages, and received the prestigious Smigel Award from NYU College of Dentistry in 2014 for his global contributions to aesthetic dentistry.

A visiting professor at New York University, Marseille Dental University, and Yeditepe University, Dr. Gürel also founded and serves as honorary president of EDAD (Turkish Academy of Aesthetic Dentistry) and served as president of the European Academy of Esthetic Dentistry in 2011 and 2012.

Lupin Dental closed a 15 million euro Series A round in 2026, received UKCA certification for its robotic system in Great Britain, and has earned international recognition including a Breakthrough Technology award at the Dentistry Unplugged congress in Malaysia.
